A master plan to pursue outcomes to integrate the Gold Coast's growing economic sectors making the best use of this highly connected location. Taking advantage of forthcoming investment in public transport, including Gold Coast Light Rail.

Situated on the southern coastline

The airport bridges the gap between the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales, creating the largest economic anchor at the heart of these regions. Passenger traffic is forecast to grow by up to 3.6% per annum – domestic traffic is anticipated to match that of Brisbane Airport by 2044. 

$500 million worth of works were delivered by 2023, underway or in the pipeline. Recent investment included the $260 million Southern Terminal Expansion, which opened in late 2022.
