Health and Medical

The city’s largest employment sector

This is Australia’s fastest growing employment sector with significant investment by government and the private sector in health infrastructure, allied health and biotechnology.

We have 3 private hospitals - Pindara Private Hospital, John Flynn Private Hospital, and The Gold Coast Private Hospital. The Gold Coast Private Hospital was the first to be awarded Centre of Excellence status for breast surgical treatment and neurosurgery. It also gained this status for endometriosis care, making it one of only 4 hospitals Australia-wide to achieve the prestigious ‘seal’ across 3 specialties – and amongst the most awarded hospitals in Australia.
