Village Roadshow

With their headquarters based on the Gold Coast, Village Roadshow Theme Parks offer a diverse and exhilarating range of experiences and entertainment that attract around five million guests per annum.

Gold Coast venues owned by Australia’s largest theme park operator include Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Wet’n’Wild, Paradise Country, Australian Outback Spectacular and Sea World Resort & Water Park. Village Roadshow Group has demonstrated strong ongoing investment in new attractions, rides and events, with many winning numerous awards both nationally and internationally.

Situated next to Movie World and Wet‘n’Wild, the much-lauded Village Roadshow Studios at Oxenford has been at the helm of the city’s screen industry growth for more than 30 years. It has attracted major international productions, including the epic feature Elvis by Baz Luhrmann, along with other box office smash hits including Thor: Ragnarok, Aquaman, and Dora and the Lost City of Gold.

The studios offer world-class film production facilities comprising nine sound stages, three water tanks, 12 production offices, editing suites, wardrobe, makeup, construction, paint and carpentry shops.

The studios have grown to include Australia’s largest sound stage which sits at 3716m2 (40,000ft2) and one of the biggest water tanks in the southern hemisphere. It is estimated that Village Roadshow Studios alone has attracted about $3.6 billion worth of film, reaffirming the city’s position as a movie-making heavyweight.

The company is continuing to invest in the city with plans for a $333 million, 22-storey, 600 room resort hotel and function centre at Warner Bros. Movie World.

I cannot overstate how excited I am about the future, and particularly our future, on the Gold Coast. We came here to make a film and discovered not only a home, but also an incredible environment for creativity. Not just for movies - though it’s an unbeatable filmmaking environment - but also visual arts, music and, of course, the food scene.
